Virtue Education

During our weekly Monday Prayer Service, students are introduced to one of the virtues. We explain each virtue in a developmentally appropriate and clear way to enhance student understanding. Teachers then reinforce the virtue through their grade-level lessons and highlight positive examples of virtues in the classroom.
2021-22 VIRTUE CALENDAR
Faith – 9/7 to 9/10- Enables one to know God and all that He has revealed
Hope – 9/13 to 9/17- Enables one to desire God above all things and to trust Him for our salvation
Charity/Love – 9/20 to 9/24- Enables one to love God above all and to love our neighbor as ourselves
Respect – 9/27 to 10/8- Speaking and acting according to one’s own and others’ rights, status, and circumstances
Obedience – 10/11 to 10/22- Assenting to rightful authority without hesitation or resistance
Prayerfulness – 10/25 to 11/5- Being still, listening, and being willing to talk to God as a friend
Perseverance – 11/8 to 11/19- Taking the steps necessary to carry out objectives in spite of difficulties
Gratitude – 11/22 to 12/3- Thankful disposition of mind and heart
Generosity – 12/6 to 12/17- Giving of oneself in a willing and cheerful manner for the good of others

Meekness – 1/3 to 1/14- Serenity of spirit while focusing on the needs of others
Kindness – 1/17 to 1/28- Expressing genuine concern about the well-being of others; anticipating their needs
Trustworthiness – 1/31 to 2/11- Acting in a way that inspires confidence and trust; being reliable
Responsibility – 2/14 to 2/25- Fulfilling one’s just duties; accepting the consequences of one’s words and actions, intentional and unintentional
Loyalty – 2/28 to 3/11- Accepting the bonds implicit in relationships and defending the virtues upheld by Church, family and country
Sincerity – 3/14 to 3/18- Trustfulness in words and actions; honest and enthusiasm towards others

Courtesy – 4/11 to 4/22- Treating other people with respect, recognizing that all are made in God’s image and likeness

Foresight – 5/9 to 5/20- Considerations of the consequences of one’s actions, thinking ahead
